Yukon Turf-Type Bermuda Grass Seed

Yukon seeded turf-type bermudagrass is the best choice for turf managers who need a seeded bermudagrass, no matter what bermuda growing zone they are in - world-wide! Developed by the Oklahoma State University Turfgrass Research Team, in conjunction with the USGA, Yukon's five parental plants were selected in 1990 from a cold hardy study, based on their high turf quality. Yukon is the most dramatic improvement in seeded bermudagrass varieties to date.

All Yukon seed is mostly unhulled, with a small amount of hulled seed. All seed is coated to increase seed size and make it easier to plant.

Advantages

Yukon uses up to 25% less water than other bermudagrasses, while maintaining superior turf quality. In multiple locations and over a decade of use, Yukon has surpassed all other seeded varieties and many of the vegetative varieties for spring Dead Spot resistance, early spring green-up and winter survival.

Performance

Yukon has expanded the bermudagrass planting zone - it is the turfgrass professional's top choice for projects from the Equator through the transition zones of the world. In trials, it has shown excellent turf quality and winter hardiness at both 0.5 inch and 1.5 inch mowing heights. Yukon can be seeded on new projects, as well as interseeded into existing turf of similar quality. With highest ratings for turfgrass quality, color, density and texture, Yukon Bermudagrass is the best choice for turf managers, wherever bermudagrass is grown. Additionally, with its excellent winter survival and cold tolerance, Yukon becomes a stand-alone choice for transition zone plantings. Not that bad but lost some seed due to cuts in the inner bag. Expensive seed so kinda stinks. Not a whole lot lost though.
